Meet Bear, “Bear finds the world a little scary and needs an experienced and loving owner and a doggy friend” 💞
Bear spent 10 months in Kennels before moving to his current adoption home in December 2024. He has been with his family for 3 weeks however, they have made the decision to surrender him due to their circumstances changing and feeling they don't have the time to continue building his confidence.
Bear is a very nervous boy since his arrival and spends all day within his crate and only eats or ventures out of the crate during the night once the home is quiet and no-one is around. He has only been in the UK for a short amount of time however, he will need a patient and understanding family to continue working with him.
Bear is very scared of visitors and will stay in his crate for the entire visit. He has never shown any aggression.
Bear has not yet used a lead due to not leaving his crate. He would need a secure garden in his new home to roam around in once he has built up his confidence and someone who can slowly work on his lead training 🐕🦺
Bear does live with an 8 year old child however he doesn't have much interaction with her but she does sit and speak to him through the stairgate. He could live with quieter children 8+ who respect his space and boundaries 👶
Bear does not currently live with another dog however was good with them in Romania. Bear will need another Confident dog in his home as it is felt this would help build his confidence and encourage a life outside of his crate 🐾
Bear met cats while in Romania, he could therefore live with cats with sensible introductions 🐈
Bear is not toilet trained due to his anxieties, he is crate trained and the door is open at all times. He has never been destructive and can be left alone for up to 4 hours with no issues 💞
