Description
Hugo is 1 year & 2 months old. He is a Belgian Malinois/ Greyhound.
Myself and my partner decided to welcome Hugo into our family last year, since then we have absolutely loved our time with him. He loves the beach, he loves walks off the lead, playing fetch and is genuinely a gorgeous dog. He is the most loyal boy, he’s got an amazing character, he’s full of energy but he is quite anxious. It’s with such a heavy heart that we have decided we can’t provide him the best life possible.
Hugo needs a home that can give him what he needs, he needs a lot of attention, love and time. Don’t get me wrong we have given him this, however with our current situation, we’re unable to give him the life that he deserves. We’ve been putting this off for a while because it genuinely breaks our hearts that we have to rehome him because we genuinely love him and want the best for him.
Hugo is very easily trained, characteristic and full of life, that’s his Belgian Malinois side, but he is so timid, that’s his greyhound side. He is anxious however has never shown any signs of aggression and has spent a lot of time with my young brother with special educational needs. We’ve always said that he looks like a Belgian Malinois but acts like the biggest softy you’ll ever meet.
We would prefer a home without other dogs for him, however once getting to know other smaller dogs, he loves playing with them.
Training: he knows commands such as, sit, stay, down, paw, high five, wait, is fully toilet trained and name recall. As mentioned above, Hugo prefers walking off the lead, we walk him around our estate/fields etc and he is much better off the lead. On the lead, he pulls but it’s expected from a puppy. He normally picks up commands after 12 repetitions.
Food: He is on Raw food as we have found this is what he loves most and it’s better for his breed of dog. We will show you exactly what he eats/ how much he eats and we will happily provide 2 months worth of food for him.
Anxiety: Hugo being a Belgian Malinois means he is highly intelligent mixed with greyhound which are known to be timid. He is on anxiety medication which we were told by the vet would be the best option, again we would provide 2 months worth of medication for him.
If you would like to meet Hugo and feel like you could give him the best life possible then please reach out. We really want him to have everything he deserves x
