Unfortunately I am put in a position where I have to rehome Alfie, my beloved dachshund. He is 4 years old.
Only 5 star homes will be considered. He is an Isabella and has alopecia as a result. This doesn’t not affect his health but it is something to be aware of. He hasn’t been neutered as at one point we were going to go try for a litter but Alfie shows zero interest in that area and because of his alopecia, this didn’t happen.
He is a beloved, friendly dog. He is a little nervous. He lived with another dog for a year but was attacked and is now a little shy and lost his confidence. Ideally he would be the only pet in his new home.
Alfie loves to sleep in bed with his owner and will sleep for a long time there. Soft and warm is his favourite! He loves to play with tennis balls and sticks. He is good off lead with good recall but be aware of other dogs off lead as he will bark when he is nervous. He has never attacked any other dog or human. He is a soft boy but has sadly lost his confidence so his new owner would need to work with him on that.
He has never been around children but I know he isn’t keen on loud noises so older children or no children would be ideal.
