Description
I am still shocked but overally excited to announce Maeve, my sweetest natured Mainecoon queen has given birth to a whopping litter of 8 kittens, yes, 8 kittens!! The litter consists of 5 females and 3 males, all extremely playful and affectionate. Due to such a large litter, we had to help frequently with the feeding as they grew, this seems to have ingrained a strong kitten and human bond, there is nowhere you can go around the house without a stampede of kittens following you! Both mum (Maeve - silver shaded) and dad (Moet - red/cream and white smoke) are Russian imports with great size and stature but also impeccable nature. Both are family pets and can be viewed with kittens. Now let me introduce this 'W' litter kittens... Wish - female - high tortie smoke with white - RESERVED** Wish is the most confident female but with a gentle touch. If there's a playful fight you can guarantee Wish is involved in some way. She was the first to brave playful fights with the older cats, and you can imagine how that ended! Wish is also the most vocal out of all the kittens. She is not shy in letting you know she wants your attention. Winnie - female - tabby facial markings with rich shaded tortie body with white socks. Winnie is a playful little (not that little) girl who absolutely loves playing chase with you. You can often find Winnie at your feet or running after you and then tapping your foot for you to chase her. This game which is solely hers, she can play all day. She has really developed her climbing skills, so will be one of the first kittens to climb up and sit with you. Whisp - female - full silver tabby face with high tortie smoke and white socks. Whisp is one of the sweetest young female kittens. She loves to watch her more outgoing siblings play, but don't be fooled, as soon as they think they're finished playing, she goes and pounces on them and demands more play. Like all the kittens, you can find Whisp enjoying climbing to play and sit on your lap for some 1 on 1 time with you. Unfortunately, sometimes the other kittens have already beaten her to your lap. Wilma - female - light patch face with smoke tortie body and white socks. Wilma isn't as forward as some of her siblings but that does not mean you won't find Wilma in the thick of play time or enjoying lap napping. Wilma is a very gentle and affectionate kitten and always seems to enjoy watching TV with human company, although don't expect her to watch a full programme without her falling asleep. Wren - female - rich shaded tortie. Wren is the little teddy bear lookalike (in my opinion) and with that, she has a very gentle and sweet character, a true giant softie. She is happy to have snuggles on your lap and have 1 on 1 play with you. Wren is slightly more reserved than some of her more dominant siblings, however more than happy to be held and taken around the house like a true princess. She really can be your best friend and shadow. WalE - male - shaded tabby **RESERVED ** WalE is my stripey king with incredible markings which I look forward to seeing develop as he grows. The largest of all kittens, he actually has a very surprisingly gentle side, a big gentle giant, even when playfighting with you, he is still so gentle playing with only his pads. WalE has a tendancy to climb on you for play time and then immediately fall asleep on your lap, as if playtime is too exhausting for this gentle giant. Wolf - male - silver smoke - RESERVED ** Awwww Wolf, a very affectionate silver giant. Wolf was hand fed from a couple days old due to a very large litter for Mainecoons. This has made Wolf every human's best friend for snuggles. Wolf literally wants to be close to you no matter what and has learnt how to climb and tap legs to get your affection, however I am trying to teach this is not the best way. When you see his gorgeous face and big eyes staring up at you, only wanting your affection, how can you be mad at him? Wills - male - tabby face black/tan shaded - RESERVED ** Wills is the fluffiest of all the kittens and he is only getting fluffier as he grows. Wills is definitely learning more about how to move with his large body without looking so clumsy (it's actually the cutest thing to watch). With this, Wills confidence is growing massively during playtime with both kittens and older cats. Definitely something I am excited to watch blossom as his precious personality shines. All kittens are more than happy to be held and carried in your arms. Also, you can find them all climbing up to sit and fall asleep on your lap or for extra 1 on 1 playtime or just sit on/with you and watch TV together. All kittens come with the following: 2 vaccinations (won't need to worry about vaccinations until July 2025) Vet checked twice Flea and worm treatment Microchipped Thank you so much for taking the time to read my lengthy advert and I hope you find your perfect fur baby 😺

Buyer's checklist for cats and kittens

Be responsible, do your research!

Be responsible, do your research!

Getting a new cat or kitten is a massive commitment, so make sure you have researched the breed fully and have the time and commitment necessary to care for the cat. Do you have the right living conditions to have a cat? Most healthy cats would prefer to be able to go outside, but some prefer to live indoors. If you are keeping your cat indoors, please make sure that you can provide the cat with the opportunity to exhibit normal hunting behaviour. You can read our detailed Information guide about cats for potential new cat owners. Also read our Cat breed information profile.

Kittens must be viewed with their mother in the seller's home!

Kittens must be viewed with their mother in the seller's home!

Always view the kitten at the seller’s home with the kittens' mother. Do not accept any excuses for sending money without a viewing having taken place, or if the advertiser attempts to meet you at any other location than their own home. Unscrupulous sellers will often suggest another location to avoid showing the kitten’s true living conditions. Pets4Homes do not allow the third party sale of kittens. All litters of kittens advertised, MUST have been bred by the seller. Make sure that the interaction between the kitten and its mother is natural to avoid the setting being staged.

Health check & paperwork

Health check & paperwork

The seller should be willing to let you take the pet to a vet of your choice for a health check and return the pet within 48 hours for a full refund if there are health issues. If the kitten has already been health checked, make sure you have this documented and phone their vet. The vet may not be able to disclose specific health information due to GDPR, however they should confirm the kittens have been checked. When you meet the kitten, they should be sociable and alert, with bright eyes and no visible health issues.

Kittens should receive 2 vaccinations, the first at around 8 weeks of age and the second, two to three weeks later. Kittens should not be allowed outside until 7 days after their second injection. Cats should also receive a yearly vaccination booster. Ask the breeder which vaccinations they have had and if not, why not. If the seller has not started the kittens vaccinations, it will be your responsibility to make sure you arrange both vaccinations 7 days before letting your kitten go outside.Kittens should really be wormed at around 2 weeks of age, and again at around 5 weeks of age, and finally just before they leave the seller/breeder at 8 to 12 weeks of age.

Pets4Homes always recommend that you microchip your cat/kitten, especially if you have an outdoor cat. This provides a safe way of identification if the cat were to be lost. In December 2021 the government announced that they are set to introduce new rules saying that all pet cats over 20 weeks need to be microchipped. No dates when this is coming into effect have yet been announced.

Is the cat/kitten registered with the GCCF, TICA or FIFe? If they are, then check to make sure you are given the correct documents BEFORE you decide to take the cat home. It may also be worth phoning the organisation to check if the information provided is correct.

Report, don’t support!

Report, don’t support!

If you believe a kitten may be subject to irresponsible breeding, do not “rescue” the kitten by rehoming it. Walk away and report the seller to us immediately. You should also report your concerns directly to the local council as they have the authority to inspect the premises if there are any welfare concerns, and can take further action if required. We work closely with several local councils, trading standards and police forces and we are able to provide any account or advert details if requested and if a data protection request is sent to us. Find contact details to your local council.

Contract & Payment

Contract & Payment

Never send money outside of Pets4Homes unless you have viewed the pet (in person or virtually) and are confident that the seller is genuine. We strongly recommend you pay through Pets4Homes’ own payment service as you’ll be covered by the Pets4Homes Guarantee.

If you do decide to pay offline, always know you can walk away at any time if something sounds suspicious. And report the seller to us.

Kittens must be at least 8 weeks when collected

Kittens must be at least 8 weeks when collected

Kittens must be at least 8 weeks old and fully weaned before they can leave their mothers. Please make sure to check the paperwork to ensure the kitten is old enough. Most responsible sellers will keep their kittens longer than this before they let them go to new homes. Read further information on the minimum age kittens should be before leaving their mothers.

Get your cat insured!

Get your cat insured!

It’s worth looking into pet insurance before your pet arrives. Millions of pet owners get peace of mind from having insurance that can cover the cost of unexpected vet bills to treat accidents and illness.

Premiums can be less expensive for younger pets, and getting pet insurance early in their lives means they’re covered for conditions before they develop. If your pet develops an illness before you have insurance, it’s likely to be excluded, and you’d never be able to claim for it.
