Bimba is a gorgeous girl, she definitely has setter in her but likely a variety of different things, including Brittany, meaning she’s quite small in size. She has wonderful bright and striking colouring. She was unwanted by her hunter in the Basque Country. She’s a really lovely girl, a happy and playful soul who is active and very sociable with other dogs. She shares a kennel with 3 others and they get on great together. She’s really adorable with people too, very affectionate and become attached, always happy to give and receive a big fuss
Since arriving at the shelter, Bimba has tested positive for leishmaniasis. Although leish is not common in the areas we rescue dogs, we never know where they may have travelled in their time with their hunters. However, when caught early like Bimba’s, it’s a treatable condition. For more info see our blog. Bimba has began treatment in Spain already and we will support her new family through any necessary treatment decisions in the future once she has been adopted.
UPDATE: Bimba is doing really well with her leish treatment and is looking for a home. She’s a really gorgeous and steady girl. She is very friendly with both dogs and people and isn’t phased by much so far in her life at the shelter. When on a local walk, she’s been really unphased by traffic, people and strange dogs going past and walks really nicely on a lead.
