It is with a heavy heart that I need to re-home my dwarf hermann tortoise Terry. Due to personal life changes I am downsizing to a smaller property and don’t have the space for him.
He is approx 2 years old, and can live anywhere from 50 - 100 years! So although he is a low maintenance pet he is a big commitment.
I am selling as a complete setup, 12% UV light, ceramic heater with temperature control, timers to activate the light and heat in the morning and then turn off at night. All tank decorations, hemp bedding substrate and food included.
Terry is a cool little guy, quite active and friendly. I also have an outside enclosure/run you can have additionally for free if you have a garden as he likes to chill outside during the day when it’s a warm day.
Ideally someone who has experience of keeping exotic pets and has space for Terry to grow, as he will need a bigger tank in time, he is likely to double in size but will never be as big as a standard hermann.
Terry has never been hibernated as he is kept inside with a heater and lamp all year and only goes outside in warm weather for a few hours, he is also still a baby, so too young to be hibernated.
I also am not sure on the sex, I went with male but it’s actually really difficult to tell at this age.
Pickup only from Rochester High st, will likely need two people to lift the tank. it works really nice as a tv stand which is how I have it at the moment.
Total cost of everything bought new including Terry himself was about £700
