I am looking to re-home my incredible 18 month old pony Rocco.
He is an absolute light in my life, and has made huge strides since bringing him to the stables just over 3 months ago.
Rocco was previous living in a wonderful rescue, who brought him in from a lady who breed him on her farm, but had far too many horses and ponies: unable to train or look after them adequately.
Rocco now leads well, backs up, lunges, ties and grooms very well with me, however, still being a baby he will try his luck with new people on the yard, and can nip. Again, with me he does not try this, ever.
As I bought him as a novice for backing horses, I underestimated the time he needs and I feel strongly that he would thrive so much better with someone who will not only love him, but have experience training young ponies. My mistakes only confuse and pause his development.
Once bonded, he is the most wonderful, loving pony: running to the gate when called from the field, standing for strokes and being a pleasure to be around. He has been around my 4 children, and definitely slows and calms around my youngest, who is 4 years old.
