DescriptionHello everyone!
We have a very handsome boy available for adoption called Bundee. He is 4 years old, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and treated against internal/external parasites. He is probably a mix of some hunting breeds. He is medium to large size and weighs 21 kilos. He is currently being fostered in Hastings, East Sussex. Bundee is NOT an easy dog, so please read his adoption requirements carefully. We need a super special person to offer this boy a forever home.
Wonderful qualities:
- Bundee will be very friendly and loyal once he gets to know you, however at first he may appear apprehensive
- He is super active, would make a fantastic hiking/long walks/adventures buddy, his recall off the lead is great, responds well to treats; walking on the lead is work in progress – he is mostly fine, but may try his luck at pulling with a new handler. He loves walks in the woods, he loves to play in the water, he also appreciates street walks
- He travels well in the car, he is clean in the house, can be left alone for up to 4 hours, adores his crate and something tasty to chew on, happy to wear muzzle for vet appointments
- Bundee knows basic commands and is truly a people pleaser; he is a chatty boy, loves to wag his tail, loves toys, loves belly rubs and head scratches and has the softest eye contact in the company of people he is comfortable with. He responds much better to women
Drawbacks:
- Bundee can be temperamental with dogs – he will either like them or not. Pushy/playful/overly friendly puppies are a huge no as Bundee will not be shy of using his teeth to make them go away. He plays pretty rough with his best friends as they understand his type of playing and will happily engage.
- Bundee is very prey driven towards wild animals or smaller pets
- Bundee does not do well with children or visitors AT ALL (he is not a dog who is happy to mingle or welcome people in the house and will not be shy of using his teeth to make this clear)
- Bundee is noise reactive (mostly doorbell, voices that he is not familiar with)
- Bundee suffers from allergies which can at times trigger scratching frenzies
For every difficulty Bundee presents, the foster home has a non-negotiable established management plan which is safe and easy to follow by a potential new owner. This can be openly discussed and worked on to suit his new forever home environment. Bundee is an extraordinary dog, has loads of fun doing mad zoomies in the woods with his best pals every day, having cuddles and belly rubs, throwing toys about and relaxing indoors on horrible rainy days. His foster family love him very much and are determined to find him the very best forever home. For the right person, he can be a fantastic companion and we’re hoping someone will open their heart and home to this wonderful boy.
BUNDEE'S IDEAL FOREVER HOME:
- active adult only household, preferably female(s)
- patient, understanding, committed, experienced owners, familiar with anxious reactive dogs, must be happy to use crate and muzzle for safety reasons when needed
- training experience and general dog behaviour knowledge would be ideal as Bundee does have a bite history towards people in his previous home
- Bundee must be the only pet
- detached (countryside) house preferably
- quiet environment, with very few or no visitors
