Description
Testimony to their blind loyalty little Lucy waits to go ‘home’ but her ‘home’ isn’t waiting for her. She wonders where her ‘owner’ is but her owner isn’t thinking about her- because they know where she is-or at least where they left her- on the curb alone, petrified & unspeakably confused. They had thrown her away. Little Lucy is so terribly good & social- the vet said & I agree. There isn’t a bad bone in her body. Her bones were however broken when a car hit her & she was dragged along - she was just trying to find her way ‘home’- they didn’t stop- they just carried on as she screamed. Lucy would have been terrified & in so much pain. She was left to die a second time. She probably didn’t think it could get any worse but it did. After she was run over she lat there & almost succumbed to heat exhaustion shock & dehydration. The vets words:- “Social, good, domesticated and dumped because she is very sad, whines by the fence and doesn't like being cooped up in the shelter... This is the dog with the pelvic surgery, see how she is on her feet now and moving well .... This dog was brought to the shelter 2 months ago. ... Hit by a car and dragged... Broken pelvis on the left in three places and cracked pelvis on the right ...and also a torn ligament in the cast leg in... An operation was performed by Dr. Dzambova and now the dog is very well, she rests on her feet & legs no problem and walks.... I will take pictures of you in an upright position.... when I return to work... this girl is looking for a home ......in a country like this it is almost impossible....... Going back to the street isn't an option either because she’ll get hit by a car again .....” The vet is right. The tragedy is that Lucy is at risk. She was born in a country that has no opportunities for dogs - so there is a perpetual cycle of misery whether it ends up in a pound or on a chain- nothing is policed and little offers hope. But let me tell you the uplifting part & that is Lucy’s enduring nature- her gentle, loving, sensitive & placid ways- despite it all she’s shown us her ability to adjust & how sociable she is with people & other animals. She’s met children, great with puppies and small dogs aswell as all other sizes female or male & has a petite stature. Her age of 3yrs and wee size is perfect - not too small you’ll trip up over her though so manageable. Lucy is immensely human focused and whilst she can be shy with strangers because she’s been abandoned and is sad- she is a gift waiting to happen & blossoms around compassion and tenderness very quickly even when her spirits are down. The reward you’d get from her and the special bond that you’d form (she’s made for it) makes Lucy a great choice for many would-be adopters. She doesn’t need to climb mountains and will be happy fitting in with a modest exercise routine & doggy play dates. Will you be the person to give her what she’s never had & always should have known? Size: petite Sex: female Age: 3yrs Coat: short/smooth Breed: cross Dogs Been around cats Gentle children (not too excitable) Men/women Affection Compassion Likes to toilet outside & wouldn’t even go in her crate post surgery Responds to love Little Lucy’s promo caption is:-‘Scrubs up well’ adoptions- you don’t need a bank balance to love, you just need a heart. Dispel the myths & adopt a ‘scrubs up well’ today. Lucys must-haves Garden or outside space of some kind would be a bonus Time & empathy Human presence Neutered ✅ Health certificate ✅ Clinical inspection ✅ Passport/microchip ✅ Vaccines ✅ Bloods clear ✅ Tick/flea/ worming ✅ Collar/ ID DISC ✅ Transport outlay & home check applies.
