Bonded pair but dad and daughter so if they have any eggs you will have to remove them. Please do not think about hatching the eggs as they may have defects. They are bonded as a couple even though they are father and daughter. The yellow one is the hen and she is called Brian. The name stuck before I could tell she was a girl. I have her mother here who she looks very much like.
It’s been a very hard decision to rehome them but they are not wanting to be part of the flock now and I think they would do better and be happier as a pair away from other birds.
I will not rehome them to breeders.
They are not the type of birds to come and sit on your hand either so please don’t buy for your children. I’m sorry if this sounds harsh but if they are leaving me I want them to go to someone who understands budgies and this specific situation.
I have a cage in the loft it was hardly used as I rapidly upgraded I’ve uploaded some old photos I found in my camera roll. The main photo is of Brian the hen and the second one is her father Benny. I have added some photos of Brian growing up and Benny there too. She started off very white in colour and then she became more yellow like her mum after her first moult.
They are fed a mix of seed and Avi mix. They are also given fresh greens and apple. They get seed sticks and millet as treats.
