100% healthy UK bred Raccoon Shrimp (aka Racoon Tiger Shrimp) - Caridina sp.
Racoon shrimp are an active and attractive freshwater shrimp originating from Vietnam. They prefer relatively cool, clean, well oxygenated soft water. Their breeding tank water parameters are GH 4, KH 1.5, pH 6.5 at around 18-23°C.
Shrimp are always shipped. Collection is not available.
Shrimp sent will be unsexed juveniles, approximately 1cm to 1.5cm in length. Adult size is approximately 2.5cm to 3cm.
The photos shown are taken from the breeding colony of the shrimp that will be sent.
Shipping
Shipping live animals is a difficult process and I will do everything I can to make sure it is successful. Shrimps are sent packed in aquatic bags inside a protective polystyrene box.
Please read the following information carefully. If you do not agree with these terms then please do not purchase.
All live shrimp orders will be sent by Royal Mail 'Special Delivery by 1pm'.
Our shipping dispatch days are Monday to Friday only.
Orders received before 12pm (noon) will be shipped on the same day for delivery the next day.
Orders received after 12pm (noon) will be shipped on the following day for delivery the day after that.
Orders received on a Friday after 12pm (noon) will be shipped on the following Monday (for delivery on Tuesday).
No shipping will take place on weekends or Bank Holidays.
Someone must be in on the expected delivery date to sign for the package. If there is no one to sign for the package then Royal Mail will not deliver it and the delay in delivery may cause shrimp deaths. No refunds will be given if no one was available to receive the package on the expected delivery date. You can contact me before purchase to arrange delivery on a day when someone is available to sign for the package.
We only ship to the UK and unfortunately we cannot ship to Northern Ireland due to the additional certification required.
Acclimatisation
When your shrimp arrive they will need to be acclimatised to the water in your aquarium. This is best done by drip acclimatisation over several hours. Please make sure you have what you need to do this, such as a length of airline tubing and a suitable container.
Any dead shrimp on arrival / Refunds
Despite all efforts, occasionally a shrimp may die during transit. You must send a photo of any dead shrimp on the day of delivery or no refund will be given. The photo must show the dead shrimp still in the unopened transit bag. I cannot be responsible for any deaths of shrimp once they have been put into your aquarium.
Any shrimp that are confirmed dead on delivery will be refunded pro-rata. That is, if one shrimp arrives dead then a refund of 1/10th of the purchase price will be given.
We do not accept returns of any shrimp.
