Our 6 month old husky collie pup (Merlin) sadly needs to be rehomed. He is a gorgeous boy with lots of energy, and incredibly intelligent. It breaks our hearts to have to rehome, but we believe he needs a more active lifestyle than ours.
Merlin is toilet trained and sleeps through the night. Merlin is also crate trained, and knows many commands (sit, lie down, up, leave it, drop it, paw, high five, stay, wait). Merlin also knows to sit and wait while his food is being prepared, and loves to try new foods. Merlin has never had any issues with barking. Merlin is able to pick up new commands quickly, and he is a naturally curious and inquisitive puppy who responds well to his favourite snacks and chew toys. He is also affectionate and loves to show it through licks and playtime.
Merlin needs an owner who can be patient and offer consistent training as he is in his teenage phase where he is becoming more stubborn and he has training needs around leash pulling and nipping behaviours. He has started training in both areas, but sadly we feel we aren’t able to offer as much training time as he needs to master this. We also feel that our time constraints are impacting Merlin’s behaviour as he needs more stimulation, and may even benefit from living with another dog for increased playtime. Merlin has lived with cats and loves to socialise with other dogs so he would be able to live with other animals. Merlin would suit a home with older children or adults only for now, due to his training needs with nipping.
Merlin’s favourite toys are his soft toys, tug toys, kong and tennis balls. He also loves to chew on wooden sticks, yaks and delicious chew treats. Merlin’s favourite activity is having Greek yoghurt and peanut butter on his licky mat or playing sniff and seek with treats and kibble.
