Description
Hello, I am looking to find a suitable home for my darling Nelly. Nelly has recently turned two, but will ALWAYS remain a puppy - she certainly has the energy!
Nelly was rescued from a terrible breeder, we found her in squalor, malnourished, abused, and isolated with her 8 other siblings. We can only imagine what happened in those first, long 15 weeks of her life but whatever it was, it has left her traumatised and in need of a lot of love.
The original advert for Nelly was listed as a Belgian Malinois. While I agree that she has some Belgian in her, she definitely isnāt pure. Nelly is fast, petite and slim, and she hasnāt grown into her ears. Itās possible she has some Collie or Whippet in her, Iām not sure, but sheās beautiful nevertheless.
Nelly is friendly with other dogs and people. But she has EXTREME reactivity. She needs to learn to wait, and that she can say Hi and play, but she needs to move slowly, not at 100mph. She will never harm anybody, and will most likely pee herself if approached by unknown males, but sheāll certainly ensure her voice is heard. She requires a lot of patience, and a lot of love, but she will guarantee endless kisses and cuddles in return.
Nelly was rigidly trained when we returned home with her. She knows all the basics, and her recall was fantastic. However, over the last year our life has been unexpectedly chaotic and it hasnāt been fair on Nelly. Resulting in walks being missed, attention being diverted, a family being broken up and her training being put on the sideline. Her behaviour has changed, she occasionally lacks obedience - but this is only a reflection of the attention we havenāt been able to give her - and her recall is no longer 100% there, especially if she spots a hare or a deer, her prey drive is sky high! Oh or fox poo - she LOVES fox poo and itās a struggle to stop her rolling in it.
I am not one to rehome pets, and this is the hardest thing to do for any of us. But Nelly needs the time and attention that she deserves. There is no doubt that she is loved, at all. But I cannot provide her consistent training and as she is such a high energy breed, she really needs that consistency to thrive.
She is chipped, all up to date with her vaccinations, regularly treated for flea and worm and overall in fantastic health.
Please send me a message if you think you will make an ideal home for Nelly. Iāll be picky with who I speak to, I would like to feel confident that the person I allow her to go with will be the right one.
Kind regards, Katelin x
