Luke is a lovely dog. Luke gets on well with all of the other dogs at the shelter and loves children.
Luke really enjoys laying in the sun and having a long siesta. He is active but not overly so. He walks, sniffs and then has a lie down!
He is nervous in his kennel when anybody approaches and tries to hide but once you go in or let him out and speak to him or start to stroke him, he immediately jumps up to get more cuddles! Then he wont stop!
He just needs to know who his people are as he has obviously had a pretty horrible life so far. He is relatively relaxed after these first nervous moments and loves his walks and playing with the other dogs.
Luke isn't keen on other dogs bothering him when he eats, which is quite normal for dogs who have had to search for food.
Luke hasn’t been tested with cats but is good with the resident shelter hens.
IDEAL HOME
Luke would suit a quiet home, either without children or with older calm 12+ years old, a resident dog and without too much going on.
As he is still a little nervous, he wouldn’t suit a high-activity home or one with lots of noise or traffic around. If Luke could walk straight into a quiet park or go out on country walks, this would suit him down to the ground.
Luke is coming to foster in Surrey.

Luke was rescued from a municipal pound in Spain as he was terrified of everything around him.

All of our dogs have an international passport (unless born in the UK) and are microchipped. They are fully vaccinated for standard diseases as well as rabies and kennel cough. All dogs are blood tested for infectious diseases including Leishmaniasis, Dirofilaria, Ehrlichia, Babesia, Anaplasma, Lyme and Brucella. All dogs, unless there are medical or behavioural reasons to not do so, will be sterilised. Luke has been neutered. Please note that we will advise results and treatments upon successful application.
