Description
‘Fern’ Woody’s sister- 1yr old fluffy bear who like him is a dream dog- she’s more ‘on the move’ than him & fantastic with children & other dogs - video show case attached- please ask if you don’t spot it
When you visualise a foreign rescue dog please don’t focus on nationality. Sometimes the name of a country conjures up the idea of street dogs in packs roaming freely. Think again. They are abandoned babies that don’t know how to fend for themselves. They are the rescue that feeds gently from the hand of the little boy- they are like any dog anywhere in the world- They are Fern. Dont judge a book full stop. Fern was taken from a fuel
station area where she & her brother would going to be seriously harmed by the people there just for being a dog!
When you aren’t defined by your past & bounce back to embrace the ‘future’ (that you don’t realise isn’t yours to have unless you’re chosen) then you deserve to win admiration & salvation. Fern & her brother ‘Woody’ are humbling examples of resolve
& hope rolled into a mini bear cub. Like any dog in the world Fern wants desperately to belong. We all know someone like her- the survivors amongst the human race & we marvel at their upbeat approach & tranquil air despite all their trials. The two siblings are that person. What I love about this girl is her maturity & joyful youth combined. You get the ambling aspect that you’d expect with an older dog (despite the fact she’s young) as well as an active companion for those adventures. She is more energetic than her brother. As the vet described her, “She is good. Not dominant but more energetic and looking for attention. She came in heat.”
Fern is intelligent & gentle. Without training she takes the treats from a child & sits waiting patiently in a way that would rival any crufts competition. If you changed the background from an enclosure to a house you’d never guess that Fern was homeless. You’d think she was someone’s pet. This exquisite looking dog like so many others is at risk. She gives everything to what she thinks will be her way out only to come unstuck in the end. They learn to trust, belong, bond & form small but significant friendships in the abyss. These boys & girls find comfort in the morsels they are given in a pound environment and they make this inadequate existence their home. It’s the closest they’ve known though this isn’t a shelter as many people imagine & government policy requires these majestic souls to be put out on the streets again or given to people that may be bad. They are tragically vulnerable and unable to fend for themselves. Fern has never been anyone’s 1% let alone their 100%. She has no idea that despite doing exactly what we want ~ to simply be lovely, that she’ll be rejected
again & lonely- only this time with no sibling for comfort. I don’t think we can comprehend the shock & despondency that each one of them go through when the inevitable happens. If you’re her special person then you’ll be not only adopting but also saving her- literally. How rewarding would that be? Please give Fern the same Christmas as her brother is going to have. He’s adopted & on his way. She’ll be left behind.

Her history
‘About Fern - we caught her near a fuel station along with her brother. First time they shot him but he has escaped and the second time - I saw him, we were with the bus...a little naive of him - he came without even offering him can with food. His sister came without resistance’
