Based in Norwich and doesn’t like to travel far.
Henry is a 4 year old male miniature dachshund. His colour is Isabella, giving him a beautiful distinctive grey coat.
Henry has so much love to give! He is extremely affectionate. He is happiest when he can cuddle up and sit on a lap.
Henry likes going on a walk. On the lead is best as he may like to go on his own sausage adventure otherwise. He is still building up his strength after his back op so needs short walks until he is able to walk for longer. He enjoys toys and treats and loves a game, he likes to please and knows instructions like “sit” and “wait” when waiting for a favourite biscuit or chew. Dinner times are also a firm favourite part of his day!
Although Henry is extremely loving, he displays some nervous behaviours, and needs patience. He likes people and visitors but needs time and space to get used to them and new situations. He will mostly bark when he is nervous or unsure. He therefore likes a calm, predictable environment and a home without children or other pets is essential.
Henry is extremely loyal and will want to spend time with his special person or people, so someone home for part of the day would suit him best (perhaps working from home).
An experienced dog owner is essential for Henry. Someone who understands nervous dogs and their behaviours, possibly a previous dachshund owner who also knows this breed and their quirks, and will enjoy the reward working with Henry, giving him time and seeing him thrive in a home more suited to him. Henry really the most splendid dog. A true best friend, and everyone who has ever met him sees what a lovely little chap he is.
