DescriptionBoomer is a big softie dog, with stunning good looks. He is well behaved in the house and loves people, including children. He is a very loving dog, and there is nothing he likes more than to cuddle on the sofa with his family. He can travel to the city centre in the tram, visit the vets and spend time in doggie day care with no issues. He has been very well looked after and he is in good health. Unfortunately, his current family can no longer keep him so we are looking for a new home for him.
Boomer is “lead reactive” to other dogs, thus, the ideal environment for him would be a rural home, or an urban home with access to quiet walks (or at quiet times) with a large secure garden, with or without other dogs in the household, hopefully of similar size. Walks where he will not see or meet many other dogs (especially strange ones) although a few dogs at a distance is OK. He walks calmly, smelling around, when just walking with his owners and other dogs in the household. Walks in busy parks, either on or off the lead, are not ideal with him until such time as this lead reactivity improves. We are looking for adopters that will have the time, patience and appetite to continue and improve on his training. We must insist that any training follows positive reinforcement only and that you use our recommended positive trainer. Support, including support with the behavourial costs, will be provided.
Boomer is microchipped, vaccinated, health-checked (including various tests) and neutered.
Ideally, we are looking for adopters within an hour from Manchester to facilitate a home check and introductions. Please tell us why this dog appeals to you and why you think you may be the right people for him.
