We are looking to find a new home for our yellow sided turquoise conure, Rocky. He is DNA tested as male.
Brutally honest advert
We purchased Rocky due to his previous owners ill health to join our two other conures. Prior to this he had been an only bird for sometime. He was very much hand tame, loved nothing more than to sit on you, receive scritches, be hand fed snacks and he was obsessed with sitting on your phone and singing away. He has always preferred women over men but gets on well with children and lives in a house happily with dogs.
Sadly despite getting on well with our others initially things have slowly declined to the point that all our birds are very stressed and Rocky most of all. He had a hard hormonal season and as our other two are pair bonded he really struggled with their lack of interest in him and has come out the other side of the hormones not wanting to be near anyone and perpetually unhappy.
We have sought professional advice and it seems the best thing for Rocky is to live his life as an only bird again or with one other conure that he can bond with. He has a strong hormonal drive so could make a great breeding bird. Please note he has all his wing feathers and he is used to free flying most of the day, this has been a large part of his stress as the birds have had to start sharing out time which isn’t working for them.
Price is for him on his own but he can be sold with his cage under separate negotiations.
