Princess has once again had 5 babies in the same gender ratio as her 1st litter 3 girls and 2 boys. They were born on the 24/04 and like her previous litter were larger than usual babies.
I will be keeping back on female myself so there are 2 girls and 2 boys available.
Boy’s will be weened from the 29/04 and girls will be weened from the 05/05.
Babies can be reserved now and will be ready to collect from 12/06 onwards.
All babies are raised in a family home, indoors in cages (not tubs or racks) are handled daily and are super friendly.
Rats are only to be sold in same sex pairs, both black coats with white faces are girls and the silver/white and all black are both boys.
For convenience rats are weened onto selective rat and mouse food but treated to wet food in the mornings which consist of a kefir fermented porridge.
Rats are given mineral water only, never from the tap.
The babies are also not raised on sawdust or wood shaving. Substrates used are hemp bedding, EcoNest and back2nature paper pellets - (for toilet and toilet training).
Parents are treated with ivermectin every 4 weeks to protect against parasites etc.
