Starfish Dog Rescue in Gloucestershire.
Another dog we are helping by sharing his story as he is stuck in rescue kennels and not coping very well with no interest at all - the rescues are full of lurchers and black ones are even harder to find homes - so we are reaching out to find a forever home for such a young dog who has done nothing wrong but been cruelly dumped in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire with a terrible gash on his leg which needed stitches worried, in pain and bewildered. Of course nobody claimed him and now this young dog has been stuck in kennels for months, he is getting depressed as he is still a baby.
Marcus is approx. 10/12 month old - in kennels in the care of Forest of Dean Rescue, he has been health checked, neutered and is now fully vaccinated and recovered from his leg injury. He is approx. 22 kilos size wise is between a Greyhound and a Whippet.
Marcus is a typical young lurcher, full of energy and fun, still really puppy like he has a lovely friendly nature with both people and other dogs. He has been mixed with other dogs one of which was an older dog which he was fine with, we feel if homed with a younger dog he can get very OTT as he loves playing.

He travels well with no sickness.
He is not your coach potato sort of lurcher, he is busy, bright with lots energy, he would need a home that would build up him being left and a home with a garden is a must.

If you have had Lurchers before none of his behavior will come as any surprise - he has obviously not had a lot done with him so someone needs to invest time and training with him - he is super friendly and wants to please, he will be good fun if you have the time to put training and guidance in.
