OAKLEY is a sweet, sensitive 2-year-old male wire-haired Dachshund who finds himself looking for a new home through no fault of his own. He’s house-trained, playful, good with other dogs, and already showing just how responsive and loving he can be in the right hands.

Oakley grew up with a family and children, but unfortunately, he didn’t know how to navigate the chaos and overstimulation of a busy household with little ones. Snapping became a pattern, and the family made the painful decision to surrender him. Since entering foster care, Oakley has begun to show his true self—eager to bond, playful, and full of potential.
🐶 Detailed Information
Oakley is a classic little wire-haired character—alert, curious, and clever. He LOVES chasing a ball, and if you crouch down to his level, you’ve got his full attention and heart. He’s already formed a fast bond with his current foster and is very responsive to guidance.
He’s living with several other dogs and gets along well, though sometimes he can be a bit too enthusiastic—over-sniffing, over-licking, and even trying to hump. He is not aggressive and shrinks back if another dog tells him off. He simply needs boundaries, guidance, and a confident, calm owner who can help him understand how to be his best self.
Oakley has previously been left alone for long hours, so now he would love a home where someone is around more often and can give him the time and interaction he craves. He pulls on the lead but is improving already with regular walks and structure.

Oakley is looking for an adult-only home, ideally with experience of small, clever breeds like dachshunds.
