Description
Frank is a 3yr old male Dachshund, having travelled far to take him off the previous owners, it soon became apparent he needed lots of love and support, he was not in great shape at all, malnourished & neglected. We took him straight away to live with our other rehomed Dachshunds. He's now at the right weight, his skin and coat is amazing, his teeth are nice and white now, and his personality is shining through!
We quickly learnt he suffers with separation anxiety and is now aggressive towards our other dogs (currently separated from the others at all times hence why having to give him up) we have done everything we posibly can to help this, but hes struggling with the other dogs here. we also didn't want him placed at a rescue centre scared and alone, but struggling to find him a Foster as he needs to be the only pet in the home. We have also reached out to people local in the village but those who can take have other dogs.
A little about frank: he is an amazing little doggy, who loves his walks (up to 4 a day) is super playful, puppy like, loves his chew toys, and wants to be by your side. He's toilet trained, sleeps throughout the night (still needs his crate helps with his anxiety) he's a super quick learner, doesn't quite like other dogs on walks but we are working on that (much better when lone walking without the others) he is currently on raw food, only food he'll eat, loves all sorts of treats, sprats, pig ears, chicken feet! He's still learning to cope in the car, but positive reinforcement, short trips and treats, we found this to help.
He ideally needs a quiet home where he is the only pet in the home (this is a must) No children due to his nature, local to the preston and surrounding areas only as we will need to do a home visit first, and also need evidence of insurance documents before he can leave. Like most dogs with anxiety Frank needs a companion who is either retired or works from home. We do use a dog cam when I leave and this really helps him cope when he can hear me. We also have other aids that help him which you can take. He has his own made to measure jumper and rainmac (really hates the rain) food and special treats will all be provided.
He regularly sees the vets for check ups, weight checks, vaccinations up to date, microchip, flee and worm treated. Our vets know Frank very well and are more than happy to provide a fantastic reference for Frank and us as owners.
We have everything you may need for Frank, please only get in touch if your serious about rehoming him.
This really needs to be his final forever home, he's a fantastic little dog who just wants your love. Once he's rehomed I'll still be happy to assist with any querries or concerns incase I've missed anything.
We'll be very sad to see him leave, but its what's best for Frank.
Thanks for taking the time to read any queries please feel free to drop a message.
Please note: Any money received for Frank will be given to our local dashaund charity.
Thankyou.
