**Description:**
Dog is a gentle and affectionate Labrador-Collie mix, approximately 5-6 years old, with the playful energy of a Labrador and the striking coat of a Border Collie. He's mostly in great health, though he does take a high-strength joint supplement for some stiffness in his back hips, which doesn't hinder his ability to play or enjoy daily activities.
**Temperament:**
Dog has a fantastic temperament — calm, incredibly loving, and perfectly behaved around children, making him a delightful family pet. He has been an immense source of comfort on long travels and a calming presence at home. Dog does have some anxiety around other dogs due to a past incident but lives harmoniously with another dog at home. When he sees other dogs during walks, he tends to bark loudly, not out of aggression but as a vocal expression of his anxiety. He is looking for a patient owner who can continue to help him manage this behavior. Dog is trained to walk with a halti as he can pull on the leash, especially when he spots other dogs.
**Training:**
Fully house-trained and responsive to commands like sit, stay, come here, and has decent recall (though distracted by other dogs).
**Needs:**
No special dietary needs beyond his joint supplement. He does shed quite a bit, so regular grooming would be beneficial. He is best suited to an understanding and patient owner who can offer him the time and attention he deserves.
**Reason for Rehoming:**
With a new baby on the way and increasing work commitments, it’s become challenging to provide Dog with the care he needs. This decision comes with a heavy heart, as he deserves a home that can continue to offer him the love and joy he brings.
