πΆ REUBEN is a 4-year-old Cockapoo boy who is both affectionate and intelligent but needs a calm and structured environment to thrive. Small-medium in size at just 11 kg, he loves cuddles, belly rubs, and long walks in nature.

CHARACTER HIGHLIGHTS: Affectionate, clever, anxious in busy settings
DOGS: Can be with other dogs once familiar but prefers to start as an only pet
CATS: Untested
CHILDREN: Best suited to an adult-only home or one with older children (teenagers)
This is what his family wrote about him:
βReuben is a 4 year old Cockapoo who has both very loving and caring sides, but also can be anxious at times. He seems to be more anxious when there is a lot going on and is overwhelmed by situations, we have a little girl who is 2 years old and isn't quite understanding yet of his temperaments and hard to make sure she isn't winding him up or getting him too excited. When he gets overwhelmed or anxious he barks and we struggle to stop him, I believe this is because we have not worked on this enough with not having the time and consistency with having a little girl and both working shifts. With him not having a set routine I feel like this adds to his anxious side. He is not aggressive towards people or dogs, but his bark is his way of showing his nerves but once used to someone or a dog, he does calm down and can be walked with another dog. Initially he is very excited but once walked he calms down and seems less anxious.
I feel he needs to be in a home with no other children and possibly dog free until he has got to know his new family without feeling protective or anxious about having another dog around. He doesnβt get possessive about his food or toys however when my little girl has toys around, he can get things for attention which he doesn't like to give up. When there is nothing around to get he is not an issue, hence the reason why I say without children around he would not show these issues. He loves cuddles, loves belly strokes, and loves long walks. Is great off the lead but as mentioned he can be a little more reactive on the lead but with consistent training he is a very clever dog and picks things up very quickly. He's also good with commands like sit, lie down, wait.I've seen how he is when things are a lot calmer in the house and is a very different dog, so I feel like this environment maybe just too much for him and is not fair on either us or him and want to give him the best life. β
Ideal Home for REUBEN:
πΆ REUBEN would do best in a quiet, child-free or one with older, dog-savvy teenagers who understand his needs. He will benefit from a patient and experienced adopter who can provide a steady routine, consistent training, and plenty of affection. While he enjoys the company of dogs after proper introductions, starting as the only pet would allow him to adjust and build confidence with his new family.
πΆ REUBEN has so much love to give and just needs the right environment to flourish. If youβre searching for a devoted companion who will reward your kindness with endless cuddles and loyalty, REUBEN is waiting for you. With the right family, this sensitive soul will bloom into the perfect addition to family πΎπ π
πΆ REUBEN when anxious can guard things that he finds and claims, as his. He doesn't destroy them but takes to his bed. He doesn't guard his food or his toys. You can swap things for a treat.
πΆ REUBEN is fully healthy. Neutered, has all core vaccines done, and is microchipped.
