Description

This beautiful girl has had a challenging time and been passed from home to home and also used for breeding. She is looking for a breed experienced home with knowledgeable new parents who will understand how to manage her decompression into a new environment without expecting her to give more than she is able. She currently is suspicious and uncertain but when she feels confident her play style can be boisterous. She is in a foster placement so we are still getting to know her, she has clearly not received positive exposure to the world or had good leash training and is very vocal when she sees anything stimulating. She hasn’t yet got the skills to deal with the outside world so will bark, spin, jump, lunge etc she is a quick learner and is already responding well to one to one focus work. Therefore her new home needs to be quiet, adult only with lots of outdoor space, the more rural the better so she doesn’t have the daily pressure to be exposed to busy environments that are overwhelming. She is a dog who is looking for a predictable routine to give her the time she needs to come out of her trauma and bond positively to new parents who will then be able to show her the world is not as scary as she thinks. She has had gentle exposure to other dogs and is sociable but gets over excited quickly so if you do have another dog they will be a similar size, who is older in age, very steady and calm, who has been neutered. If you think you have a home as described above with the breed specific knowledge and experience of owning your own rescue or rehomed Dobermanns we would love to hear from you. As we have said you You will be an adult only household, with one person at home for the majority of the time. She is currently not emotionally able to undergo a spay op so will come under contract to that effect and that will be supported by the rehomer over the next 12 months once she has been assessed as being physically and emotionally able to proceed. We will travel to you and complete a full home check and get to know you and your environment first. Please apply with details of the home you can offer with examples of what we have outlined above. Many thanks.
