Description
NALA - LURCHER GIRL FOR ADOPTION IN CORNWALL/DEVON
Hi, I’m Nala! 🐾
I’m a young Lurcher girl looking for my forever home in Cornwall or Devon. Let me tell you a bit about myself!
🐶 About Me:
• Size: Medium (smaller Lurcher build)
• Age: Born 13.07.2023
• Vaccinated & Microchipped: Yes!
• Spayed: Not yet. I had my first season in November 2024. Spaying is planned for 2025 but may need to wait until I feel a bit more confident and settled.
• House-trained: Yes!
🐾 A Few Things About Me:
I’m a super affectionate and loving girl once I get to know you. It takes me a little while to trust new people, so slow and kind introductions are really important. Once I feel safe, I’ll shower you with love! ❤️
The big wide world can be a bit scary for me at times, but I’m working hard to build my confidence. I’ve been getting special training to help me feel braver and more comfortable in different situations. My progress has been amazing so far!
I love running and exploring, especially splashing in water and playing games with my humans. I do have a strong chase instinct (I am a Lurcher, after all!), so my zoomies will need to be managed in secure areas.
🏡 My Ideal Home:
I’m looking for a calm, patient home that can help me keep building my confidence. I’d love a rural or semi-rural setting with a big, secure garden where I can safely release my energy and continue my training.
I need a confident adopter who I can draw strength from and feel protected by. I’ll need time to build trust and form a strong bond with my new people before venturing out into the wider world.
I’d need to be your one-and-only at home, as I’ve shown fear reactions towards other dogs and would do better living as an only dog for now. However, I’d benefit greatly from continued opportunities for socialisation to build on my new skills.
I’m also not suited for homes with cats or small furries.
Children? I’d prefer a quiet, child-free home for now.
🐶 Training & Temperament:
I’m learning so much right now! I’m working on walking calmly past other dogs and meeting new people. My confidence has already grown so much, but I’ll need adopters who are experienced and committed to continuing this journey with me.
🙏 Free guidance and advice from my current trainer/behaviourist will be available to my future adopters. This will help pave the way for a successful transition into my forever home.
📖 My Story:
Last autumn, I was rescued from death row at a UK pound, abandoned and never shown the love I deserved. Paws2Freedom saved my life, and my amazing foster parents showed me what a real home feels like. Now I’m blossoming with the help of specialist training.
I’ve come so far already, and I know with the right family, I’ll keep growing into the happy, loyal, and playful companion I’m meant to be.
