Jasper is a 4 year old, medium sized boy. We believe he would be happiest as an only dog, with humans who were around a lot. This boy needs an adult only home and would be best homed with someone who has previous rescue dog experience.
This boy has been in kennels for a while now, and we'd really like to get him out and in a home. He deserves his happy ever after now, but we would consider a foster home if it could be his last home before he finds his adoptive home. We want to avoid messing him about and confusing him too much.
He genuinely enjoys his own company, and can entertain himself for hours with toys, as long as his humans are present. If he's left entirely on his own, he does suffer some separation anxiety when in a large space, but settles well in a room or crate or kennel that is his. Jasper really does like being in his crate, and would love a space like this in his home that he could call his 'dog-den.'
He enjoys going for walks with other dogs, but he isn't always bothered about interacting with other dogs or befriending them - sometimes he does, and sometimes he doesn't. Jasper is a fit and healthy boy, who can tug on the lead a bit, so will need a guardian who can cope with this. However, he is a very easy going dog in the right environment.
Jasper definitely needs an adult home, with not too many visitors and a good amount of space as he’s energetic. Applicants for Jasper would benefit from meeting him a few times before a decision to adopt (or foster) went ahead. We are keen to make happy matches, and want to make sure both dog and human are happy with their match.
