Handsome Stan is searching for his perfect forever home! This cheerful and affectionate 3 year old, large sized fellow is ready to fill your life with warmth and love. With his striking cream-colored fur that deepens to a darker shade around his ears, he boasts a unique and charming look that’s sure to steal your heart.
Stanley’s journey began in Romania, where he was rescued from one of the many kill shelters. It was there that he got the scar on his snout—a hairless patch that might seem like a shaving mishap but is actually a result of a cruel tradition in Romania. Puppies’ snouts are burned with a hot iron in the misguided belief that it will prevent canine distemper. This practice is not only unscientific but also needless and inhumane.
For the past two years, Stanley has been part of a loving family in the UK. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen changes in their circumstances, his family is no longer able to provide him with the attention and stimulation he needs to thrive. As a result, Stanley has been spending more time indoors and hasn’t been getting as many walks as he would like. He is now seeking a new home where he can enjoy an active and fulfilling life.
Stanley has all the benefits of being raised in a home environment. He is house-trained and crate-trained, appreciating having a little personal space where he can relax. While Stanley can initially come across as timid and lacking in confidence, a home willing to patiently work with him and help build him up would be ideal. Once he gets to know you, Stanley reveals his affectionate side—he loves cuddles and will happily follow you around the house.
Stanley currently lives with another dog and could happily share his new home with a canine companion. Slow and careful introductions will help ensure a positive bond. He also lives with a cat and would be comfortable sharing his space with another feline friend.
Stanley is good with children and has lived with teenagers for the past two years. However, due to his size, a home with children over 12 would be best. He loves playing with his rope toy and enjoys settling down with a tasty cow hoof for a nibble. While he isn’t particularly food-motivated, he eats his meals happily and takes treats gently.
Stanley is ready to bring joy and companionship to his new family—a home that can offer him love, patience, and a chance to thrive.
