Description

Please take time to read and understand my story/situation. This is Jude and Judy. They are both adorable and entertaining birds. They are very attached to each other and I can only let them go together. They are semi tamed and will eat from your hand and will step up outside the cage. Sometimes they will be a bit stubborn but they will step up. They like to always be around each other. Unfortunately Jude was sick on the 30/01/2025 and I took him to the vet immediately and he had a scan done and it’s possible he could be positive for psittacosis; we are awaiting his blood results to confirm this which should come out this week. He is back home now and has had his first injection of antibiotics just incase he is positive. He is required to take 5 more injections, one each week so I will still be taking him to the vet if no one has taken them from me yet. Judy might also be a carrier but she has no symptoms at the moment and she might not show any. Psittacosis is common in birds and it is curable as long as he takes his antibiotics he should hopefully make a full recovery. Despite this, he is still active and energetic, playing with his toys and eating and drinking well. Unfortunately my mum is immunosuppressed and I can’t keep them at home even though I love them very much. I’m more than happy to pay for the rest of his current antibiotics treatment if you take them from me at this time, as long as you are willing to look after them properly. Alternatively if anyone knows any rescue centres/ charities that can take them in I’d appreciate that too. They are both eating and drinking fine and you can come and see them in person if you would like. I am also willing to give them for free to the right person who understands their situation, loves animals and will be attentive to their health and provide them with any veterinary treatment they might need going forward. I care about them and love them so much and their health and well-being is my priority.
