Description

AVAILABLE Handsome Marvin 2yr old Collie Shepherd mix who adapts to his situation & bounces back through it all Marvin was abandoned around Sep/ Oct’24’ on the outskirts of an agricultural (mostly dog intolerant) village. He was most likely ‘owned’ by one of the farms or factories - possibly chained then left to fend for himself. He couldn’t of course because he isn’t feral. Whilst Marvin as we christened him isn’t frightened of people (so probably didn’t experience cruelty) he was lonely & trying to follow anyone that would have him. We spotted him (mother & I) when we were walking dogs & he followed hopefully and joyously behind with a wagging tail & matted fur. He was certainly underweight. One of our rescue dogs wasn’t happy and was hostile to poor Marvin but Marvs didn’t react and just remained placid. I found out he wasn’t homed & that he had been going between two Bulgarian houses that had started to feed him including a lady with dogs & cats that he’d enjoyed the company of often following them on their walks. Despite his poor luck he remained upbeat and affectionate. Marvin keeps his spirits high & his ability to love flowing when he’s never had anything to be particular positive about. This is testimony to his lovely nature. He can be both amiable and animated when there is something to enthuse over like a fence line in the pound (understandably) & equally he’s a gent that respects the space of his canine friends. He doesn’t attempt to grab attention from them. I arranged for him to be fostered & instead he was (unbeknown to me) picked up by an expat & then taken to the pound after a very brief spell on a chain. Marvin had migrated to the village centre to attach onto people - got hit by a car - luckily no injuries whatsoever not even a limp & that’s when the expat took him to the shelter. That leaves it to me to home him or leave him to his fate and fund what he needs without any contribution from that person despite them being asked. BTC will help Marvin to find his special person/s and as he’s such a stunning boy surly it won’t be long before he has what he always should have known - a bed and love.
