Description

πŸ’™ MEET PEPPER πŸ’™ Application Form: https://forms.gle/BwpCVdpoAKZo5fy56 ⏰ AGE: Approx 3 years old πŸ’‰ Fully vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated, Brucellosis and 4DX tested 🐾 Large size (55-60cm) βœ… Neutered 🚌 Ready to travel direct to your home from mid-May transport He's been living with Helen and Ionica at their home in Romania with other dogs for a few months now so we’ll let Helen tell you all about him: So this is Pepper! He's a mioritic shepherd, but a small one, about 27 kgs (he's a bit fat as he loves his food!) He's about 3 years old. He had been dumped in a car park near here, where people come to collect spring water. We took him from there about a year ago and had him neutered at one of our campaigns. Sadly we had to return him to where we found him, because we had nowhere to keep him. But members of our team have been feeding him. He was breaking our hearts, poor boy! Finally I had my hip replacement and was fit enough to cope with a larger dog, so when another dog was adopted, I had room for him. At first he lived with me and a smaller dog in our little apartment in Cluj. He was very good there, that is once he worked out that the window is not a way out! We lost a few plant pots off the windowsill at the beginning, also he slept on the kitchen table (!) at first, because a covered picnic table was the only shelter he had in the car park. πŸ˜₯ But now he sleeps on his bed and he's very good all night. He is almost silent and rarely barks. He's good with other dogs, children and people. He once had an altercation with our large, male shepherd, started by another dog, we think, but in the dog park he's been playing like a puppy with all the dogs. Everyone loves him there. It would be best if he was not homed with very large male dogs, just in case. He's fine with the female German Shepherd who is currently here, she's 23 kgs. He's a complete cuddle bug, craves attention and glues himself to my leg like velcro. It's difficult to move without falling over him! 🀣 He comes like a bullet when called. He loves having his tummy tickled! He has none of the guarding, aggressive behaviour which Mioritics can have. He's totally soppy! He's fully house trained. He's not food aggressive but he IS totally food obsessed. He's the most talented counter surfer ever! πŸ˜† Never misses a trick! He'll jump up if you have food in your hand. Trying to cure him of that, but it's what he did to survive. He walks quite nicely on a lead but does stop when there are distractions and does put on the brakes if he thinks we're not going in the direction we should! Waving snacks in front of his nose usually gets him going again! He was terrified of pedestrian crossings at first but now he goes across nicely. He is not easy to train but he does respond to bribes. He learnt "sit" in 30 seconds. He needs a human who has experience with independent minded dogs. He doesn't dig or try to jump fences. He's really not very high activity. He has bursts of activity but prefers to be a furry rug! He's not suitable for very small children or frail elderly people because he could knock them over. Older, dog savvy kids who don't mind a few bumps, no problem. He had his rabies jab on 21st January. He's fully vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and neutered. He's very healthy. I'll give him a haircut next week now it's warmer, and take some more photos - his winter coat makes him look older than he is.
