Description
INTRODUCING BRIZA 5 year old (approx.) Female 💥💥Available for ADOPTION💥💥Currently in foster in East Sussex. Very likely to be a Setter cross. Briza is a beautiful girl (the photos do not do her justice!). She is medium sized (about 20kgs). She came over from Romania very recently and has been in foster assessment. She has passed her tests with flying colours and is now ready to find her permanent home. She is fully housetrained and sleeps fine through the night. Her foster describes her as a good, calm and quiet dog, who is reserved until she gets to know you and then is very interactive. She is very good with people. She has been introduced to children aged 10 and 7 and was great with them, and clearly enjoyed the fuss they gave her. Briza absolutely loves going out on walks. She sits quietly when her harness is being put on. If she meets other dogs on walks, she might just sniff them and walk by, or she might want to play with them, and will sometimes jump towards them as she is so keen to play. She will drop her chest to the ground, inviting other dogs to chase her. She has not been off lead yet, but you can see how much she wants to play with other dogs, so she would enjoy living with another dog, or having the opportunity to socialise with other dogs regularly. She can be slightly nervous of big lorries or buses, but is improving daily. She settles very quickly with some reassurance from her foster. If she sees a fox, she will try to chase it. She has not been tested with cats, but the fact that she is so keen to chase foxes might mean that she would not be good with cats. Briza loves to be in the garden. She has travelled fine in a car – she is not too keen about getting in, but sits quietly when she is in. Briza knows her name, and understands the ‘sit’ command. Her recall has not been tested as she has not been off lead in the short time that she has been with the foster. She is generally responsive to treats. She is fed a mix of wet and dry food, and often eats the wet food and then leaves the dry food until later. She has absolutely no food aggression, and she takes treats very gently. She is an affectionate dog, when she knows you, and she loves strokes and cuddles. She follows her foster around the house and clearly enjoys being part of a household. She would be a brilliant companion or family dog. If you would like to adopt Briza, and understand the commitment you are making when you take on a rescue dog, please complete the form using the link below, or ask one of our volunteers and they will be happy to help.😇😇 The Responsible Dog Rescue provides incredible support to all fosters and new adopters. We are a community, and we help each other. We have behaviour experts, and lots of experienced fosterers, on hand to help you. We always advise slow and supervised introductions to other pets, and of course, always have safe introductions to children. For adopting dogs, all children in the household must be at least 5 years old. Direct access to a private, secure garden is required.
