An update for Bart’s supporters -
Bartholomews history is of course known -
both the gypsy village he was in & that he
was almost certainly beaten the vet said.
This is how we have gleaned information
about him such as the community he was
in & how long he has been on this earth
approximately- an ungodly one for him. He
reminds me of Bernard a little bit - you all
remember Bernie- going back a few years
now- who was on a chain for 13yrs (his
‘owner’ had died) who despite his senior
age would fly through the air to say hello
to me- all because life was looking up in
his mind - and his concrete cell was an
improvement. It’s so poignant. Well ok Bart
isn’t doing acrobatics quite like Bernard
though it’s delightful to witness his
endearingly cute bum scratch fests in
Bulgaria turn to joy at living in Britain. He
falls asleep for ages on car journeys and
after his initial excitement at what the day may bring he is learning to sit for treats
and strokes. Bart is multifaceted & release
the ecstatic boy within applies as will the
dog that knows he doesn’t have to push
for happiness as time teaches him that it’s
for free. As you all know it’s a transport
outlay only for the dogs from here to U.K.
as we fund everything else that’s involved
for our adopters. We’d like to thank the
sponsors who gave donations which the
welfare kindly decided to put towards
Bart’s transport. The good will gesture
saved £180 for his then owner so she
could put the saving towards things for
Bart (waffle). We don’t ask a fee for the
dogs only the cost to transport to your
door. She was very appreciative and a
huge thank you again to our members.
Unfortunately his bed didn’t make it to the
fosters only the blanket. The check list for
transfer must be hard to remember. We are
in line with rescue protocol asking a small
commitment donation for Bart (we cannot
usually give away free dogs in the interest
of the welfare of the animal). We will put
that towards another needy soul rather
than reimbursing the costs involved. Thank
you to the hard working transport who
certainly deserves that fee. We’ve
attached feedback on the independent
transport company below written by one of
our adopters. We’ve messaged each
backer including kellogues to thank you for
the donations you sent.
