Description
We unfortunately are having to rehome our beautiful male puppy Labrador, Arlo. I brought him from a licensed breeder in December who advertised as “Labrador cross border collie”, neither of the parents were border collie but I believe there to be some in their bloodline so has to be stated Labrador cross. He’s 5 months old, but the ad wouldn’t allow me to upload below 6 months unless I was the breeder, I’ve had him from 10 weeks old.
He’s an amazing dog with such a funny personality, and he’s very smart. But unfortunately, especially due to my job I am finding that I can’t even get him out for a walk most days. I don’t have the time he needs to really flourish and get maximum training potential. As a labrador, he does have a fair bit of energy but all he mainly needs is some toys and at least a daily walk, which I’m not finding time to even be able to do- which is unfair for him and he deserves more. We have him and another dog, but the lab is mine and the other is my partner’s and the agreement was we take our own out for walks and look after them etc. My partner’s dog is a Chinese red dog (grumpy lazy personality) so their personalities are really clashing and they just aren’t really getting on, we thought it would get better with time and it’s not so this is also our reasoning.
Arlo is lovely with children, very patient and gentle, he’s been great around my 3 year old. He does tend to get on with dogs, some he will bark at if they bark at him but we’ve been trying to train to stop this. He is crate trained, toilet trained (a few accidents overnight here and there but this is rare), knows how to sit, wait, up (he rises on his back paws which is so cute), drop (things from his mouth), loves a ball and will go fetch and bring it back to you. He has so much more potential with the right owner and training, it’s just a shame I don’t know much about training nor have the time.
He’s been thoroughly checked by a vet, is microchipped, flea’d and wormed. Vaccinations all up to date. He’s perfectly healthy- just to note, he has snapped a baby tooth somehow but is not a cause for concern. He also has a little hernia on his belly from his umbilical cord, but the vet has said again, it’s not a hernia to be concerned about it’s just literally fatty tissue and will not come with any problems!
Not looking for much money for him as I just really want him to go to a loving home with the right owners, that will be able to give him what he needs.
