I have a lovely male Spur-Thighed (Testudo graeca) tortoise hatched in August 2023, now about 1 year and 8 months old, ready for a new, loving home. This tortoise is very friendly and accustomed to human interaction – he enjoys a scratch on the back and will come to you for attention.
About Him:
Diet: Prefers dandelions and clovers, with occasional treats of boiled egg, tomatoes, and fruits.
Habits: Loves basking in the sun at the window, enjoys running freely around the room, and takes daily supervised walks in the garden (aware of birds and foxes).
Winter Care: Sleeps in a blanket with a hot water bottle during the night.
Legal Requirements:
Comes with an Article 10 CITES certificate (Certificate Number: TSC-23GBA10RN6U2C), which must stay with him throughout his life, to comply with Annex A species regulations.
Housing Needs:
Used to a protected garden run during the day and a suitably heated and lit room during the winter.
Not accustomed to hibernating as he stays indoors, never in a vivarium.
As a potential buyer, you are required to show evidence of understanding tortoise care. This includes pictures of summer and proposed winter accommodations. I reserve the right to refuse a sale if adequate care standards aren't met.
