I currently have some eggs from my pure breed Call ducks in my incubator! They come from two unrelated flocks of; mallard (colour not breed), chocolate mallard, khaki, blue fawn, lilac, chocolate, chocolate splash and buff.
They are a pet quality flock so some individuals have "better" beaks than others but they are still good quality with little bodies. I mostly pick for personality so this is a flock I've kept for 13 years full of silly personalities and people-pleasers.
Eggs will be hatched indoors amongst my family, and handled from birth and heavily interacted with, so they will make amazing family pets just like my adults. Ducklings will be sold unsexed at £15 each and with a minimum of two unless you already have some they will be joining! Ducklings will get very lonely without a companion.
Flocks with more boys/only boys do very well when raised together. There's definitely lifetime bonds formed when they're younger especially when humans form part of their family. Ducks are very messy so please let me know if you're prepared or have previous experience!
They will dibble any standing water into a semi permanent mudpuddle! They're so rewarding as characters. I highly recommend hand reared ducks because you really get to see who they really are as part of their world.
Call ducks have difficulty hatching so I'm not sure how many will arrive, so please get in touch and I can add you to the waitlist :)
