The sad time has come for me to try and find a new family for our lovely Quaker parrot. I don’t feel like she is getting the attention she deserves and my allergies are leading her to have a lesser quality of life and less time out of the cage.
Moon/Moons/Moony was hatched June 2022 and I have owned her since Feb 2023. I’m 95% sure she’s a female due to her nesting behaviour. She was hand reared and is naturally very inquisitive of people. She’s not a great talker but will make kissing sounds. PLEASE READ. When I got her she had her wings clipped and I’m fairly sure she was used to being grabbed and thus I have never been able to convince her to step onto my hands and sometimes she can be fearful of hands on approach. Don’t let this put you off though as she loves to be petted and will sit on you (on her terms) and with you. She will happily eat out of your hand and accept kisses. She’s just not what people would call ‘silly tame’ As any knowledgeable parrot owner will know some nipping is normal with beaks for hands and all that but in the two years I’ve had her she has NEVER aggressively bitten. She is a gorgeous cheeky character and my children have spent hours playing with her with toys on the floor. She very much likes to be part of the family and will eat with you and sit and watch tv. She comes with her large cage and all of her toys and accessories. I will insist that she doesn’t downsize so please consider transporting the cage too.
She will not be going to just anyone and I would love to hear how she is doing from time to time. If you think you could offer her a lovely home and be the best friend and playmate she deserves please don’t hesitate to message me. I’m asking what I paid for her, the home is more important. £180
