Description

DOB 18 October 2021, 3 years 5 months Sire: English Mastiff Dam: Neoploitan Mastiff. He has a DNA certificate to verify his parentage and genetic health tests. He has had a Rabies vaccination and in November 2024 had a (reversible) chemical castration chip implanted. He is a male Mastiff and has been extensively socialised. He is super happy to meet all dogs and people. He is enormously affectionate with his family. He knows many words and commands. He recalls to the whistle or voice. He regularly road walks and will wait for cars, bicycles etc to pass. He does enjoy picking up ‘treasure’ along the way in the form of discarded Greggs cups etc. He will wait to eat his food or pick up treats until he is told it is okay and he allows you to remove any bowl or take food from his mouth. He loves visiting places like WCF for treats and staff to pet him. He isn’t reactive to sheep, ponies or cattle. But he is always kept on a lead near them in fields. He regularly visits the groomers for a bath, dry, ear clean and nail trim. He especially adores the lake or any waterway. He doesn’t swim but he wades out or runs through the water. He loves to run like crazy in open a field when he can. He adores sticks, the bigger the better! He is enormously company loving and needs to be around people. He sleeps on his own chair next to my bed. But will sleep well in a utility room. He will bark to let you know he needs outside to toilet. He stands to have his paws wiped when he comes indoors. He doesn’t get onto other furniture unless invited. If allowed he is in heaven to be on a sofa under a duvet, watching Harry Potter! He could never be shut up in a shed or chained. He drools a lot after eating or drinking and needs his face wiped (otherwise he shakes his head and flings slobber). He has a separate small room for his food and water to limit mess. He has his own utility room area where he stays if I am out to avoid him picking up or chewing plastic items etc which he can do if bored. He loves toys, particularly squeaky ones. He is fantastic at fetch and catching balls midair. He enjoys tug/ wrestling games and especially being chased. I am in extremely poor health and a dramatic change in family circumstances means that I am urgently looking for a loving new family home for him. The saddest thing is that most of his days are now spent indoors, with only quick walks out for the toilet. Our garden is very small and boring and he can’t get to run. I have often been out for many hours for hospital visits or scan appointments. So, he is now getting increasingly fatter. The very worst thing is that he has no enrichment activity at all. He ****** confidently in any vehicle. He would love somewhere where there is space to bumble around, with interesting things going on and people to socialise with. Also, where he has the opportunity for a mad dash about. His weight was approaching 12 stones, but is probably much more now. He is in excellent health. He will bark loudly if there is a knock at the door and visitors may find his stature intimidation, so he will need introduced to people. I have many videos and photos and will attach a few. I do hope you might be able to help. With long summer days ahead I am longing to find a perfect match for him.
