Description

Thunder is a white BSH with black markings, bought as a kitten for our daughter who loves him to bits. She named him Thunder as thinks he looks like he has Thunder clouds on him! He has always been very companionable, docile and house trained, no accidents or "catty" bahaviour....until now. Last October we went away on holiday and left him with a friend to care for. It seems that this triggered some anxiety in him. Ever since that time, he's been refusing to use his litter tray, scratching and nipping us and struggling with the business of our household (4 young children, 2 adults working full time and a dog). He's always got on well with the dog - that hasn't changed! We really don't want to lose him, so we've used behavioural therapy and plenty of vet trips and purchased calming sprays, sensory diffusers for anxious pets, we put on music whilst we're out and have doubled down trying to help him. The vet says he's been triggered by our holiday, and now cannot cope with being alone so much, is very jumpy and anxious and needs a much calmer, steady, consistent household with someone mostly in all the time. The behaviour therapist says he will stop marking his territory by weeing outside of his litter tray if he's moved to a new environment, a quiet household where he gets more attention and more "calm" time. He is a beautiful cat to look at and we have lots of things to give a new owner, from beds to cat towers to toys and tunnels to food trays and food. He eats Go Cat dry food and has a very endearing need to drink water directly from the kitchen tap! He's neutered, microchipped, flea/ worm treated with all injections up to date and has a clean bill of health. We don't want to charge anything for rehoming him to the right household or family as we just want to do the right thing for him and find a quiet environment where he'll go back to sleeping all day, sitting and watching the rain through the window, and curling up on his favourite persons lap to pur all evening. Serious enquires only please.
