Cocoa is an extremely loving dog who enjoys laying in the sun, cuddling into blankets and lots of love. He has just turned 4 and has been in our family since he was 8 weeks old. He is a pedigree ‘Miniature Dachshund’ as sold by the breeder, however he is bigger than a miniature as his dad was a normal sized Dachshund. Cocoa loves to go on walks when it’s a big open area, however isn’t much of a fan of daily walks. He has been around young children from newborn to the age of 3.
He has been around other dogs since he was little, visiting family pets and such. He can be a bit nervous around larger dogs as he is much smaller than them. His best friend is a cocker spaniel. Cocoa isn’t a fan of cats so wouldn’t be suited to a home with cats already living there.
He has always had his vaccinations and health checks, and his most recent ones were done last week. He’s never had any trips to the vets otherwise as he is a very healthy dog with a stomach of steel! Cocoa has also been neutered when he was younger and is microchipped.
Unfortunately, me and my husband work too long hours and he can be an anxious dog when left alone. Therefore he is getting too upset when we leave him home alone and crying when we are gone for longer than a few hours. This isn’t the case all the time, sometimes he isn’t bothered at all and will just go find a blanket and fall asleep. It is with a very heavy heart that he will need to find a new home with someone who works part time or is at home more than we are for company.
