This gorgeous boy is Bear, a male German Shepherd, with Mali mixed in. Bear was on the verge of being euthanised, and we were asked to take him on instead. He was misunderstood in his previous home, and perhaps too much for them to handle, but once we got to know him we saw how much of a sweetheart he is. Lack of socialisation in his early life means Bear is very wary of new people, but will warm to them after time, and once he has accepted you there are no issues whatsoever. As he can be wary of people, he wears a muzzle when walked in public and is comfortable with this. He did live with other dogs previously, so we would consider a home with another dog. He would require an adult only home.
Bear is full of life and still very much a puppy at heart. He would benefit from a more experienced owner who is happy to put a little extra work into their relationship with him and into his training.
Bear is currently in kennels with us here at ADK9 Chesterfield. We are a training and boarding facility.
He walks nicely on a lead and has good basic manners. As part of the adoption process we will do a training handover where we can show the new owners how to keep up his training. We also offer a free follow up 1 to 1 session at our facility should it be needed, and a lifetime of support by phone or email to any new owner.
