Description
NO MONEY WANTED FOR HER.
Unfortunately, we are needing to rehome her/give her up due to my personal physical disability and ongoing mental health problems. I am trying to have her rehomed/taken as soon as possible, as it is just completely unmanageable for us at this time - it's not fair. We are unable to leave her in the house alone, for fear she will destroy what little furniture we have left. She is crate trained at bed time, but cannot be left in the crate whilst people are NOT in the house as she howls and barks constantly.
Elba has always been fine with other larger breed dogs she has met, just boisterous and playful, but does not like small dogs. She has separation anxiety, which has shown her rip up carpets, rip sofas and belongings to shreds. She is food motivated in anything, which in turn means she can show signs of resource guarding including food, toys and treats. Elba has no recall, if she is off the lead she just sprints away, so we have always walked her on the lead. We got Elba when my daughter was 2 years old, and she has always been lovely with her.
I am devastated to have to give her up, as she really is a lovely dog. She hugs on command, she licks tears from your face when you need her and she will ALWAYS do something goofy to make you smile. She really is wonderful, and will be an asset to any person or family who has the time for her. Unfortunately, due to our personal circumstances, that family just isn't us.
Elba is not neutered and is not up to date with vaccinations, as we financially haven't been able to provide this for her.
This is a last resort for us, and we have tried to continue, persevere and tried different things. But as my physical health declines, and both mine and my partner's mental health declines - the stress of keeping Elba is breaking us, and we can't provide what Elba needs.
