Description

Reason for parting with my Willow: Willow is my 5 year old mixed Labrador and Seluki, female. I got Willow in 2021. I got her from an independent dog fostering home service where the foster carer had lots of dogs and cats and young children over the age of 6. So I thought Willow would be able to cope with my two cats and dog that I already had. However, Willow chased and growled at the cats. I had to move the cats upstairs, but Willow learnt very quickly not to go upstairs without a stair gate. She is very clever. Willow then and continues too intimidate my other dog Jessie, which is a rescue. Not letting Jessie into the front room or outside to wee. Jessie has been weeing inside as she is too scared to go outside. I have recently moved and left my cats with my ex husband thinking a happier household and no cats would settle her. I also got a dog trainer to support her prey drive. Willows behaviour have improved and o have also started to use a vibrating collar, which I only have to show the controller and willow behaves. I now keep both dogs separate when I am not in the house. Or at night. This has helped. But not ideal as Jessie is still scared of Willow. Also, when I visitor comes over child or adult, Willow will lunge and bark. She is easy to control and when it comes to the children I put Willow away in another room as not to cause the child any distress. The vibrating collar is a godsend as willow does not behave like this. I am unable to continue her training due to my change in circumstances z I have a friend who is a police dog handler and he has advised that the continued training in place will make willow into a well behaved dog. Willow is an amazing dog with great recall when out, she has socialised well with dogs when outside, no issues. I am very heartbroken to give her up and have tried my best to keep her. This has unfortunately become to much for my rescue dog jessie and she appears to be regressing in her timidness, that had much improved in the 5 years I have had her. Willow is chipped, neutered and vaccinated. Willow would be suited with a household with older children (my daughter was 7 years old when I got Willow. With owners willing to go on long walks and persevere with the training. The price is negotiable. I would like to meet the new owners to end Willow is going to a loving beautiful new home. I **** Willow.
