Nala has been with us since October 24 as a rescue dog and regrettably we are looking to rehome her due to unforeseen work and travel commitments. She is a lovely girl with a strong temperament for companionship and has been a great friend to us and our young kids. She loves being outdoors on outings and playing her favourite game of fetch. She is very toy driven and has a great appetite for different foods. Due to Nalas upbringing in the past before us, she has had very little social interaction with other dogs and can be reactive when passing dogs at close distance. However, she does well with getting past this with strong leadership and reassurance. Since taking Nala in within the short months, she has done well at managing her anxiety with training but this anxiety is solely fear driven which would require more time and social interactions to surpass this and reduce her stress when outdoors. Inside she is highly obedient and well mannered but has the tendency to bark at strangers she does not know at first when they are in her home, something that German shepherds are inherently protective over when it comes to their family. During the time we have had Nala as our family member, she has always been a loyal and comforting friend and always wants to be with you, she’s just a big softy with a loud bark. She is fully toilet and crate trained. She likes a good solid routine everyday and we’re looking for someone who can commit to her exercise and mental needs, and provide her with the social training she needs and deserves. She has good recall off lead and always comes back to check in with you when off lead. She can be strong pulling on the lead at the beginning of walks as she is super eager to get out and play, but usually walks calmly and well after she’s had a good run and games played.
She is registered with Blackness vets Dundee, microchipped with registration, and fully up to date with her recent vaccinations and flea/worm treatment. Latest vaccinations were December 24. We recently had a full health check by this veterinary service in November 24 and is in good health condition.
