Our beautiful Yellow Labrador Retriever very sadly requires a new 5* home due to a sudden change in circumstances and no fault of his own. Extremely reluctant sale, so only serious enquiries from top notch dog people please!
Dougie is playful, adventurous and LOVES to be outdoors. His favourite things are swimming, playing fetch, tummy rubs, blueberries and Yakkers Yak chews (if you don’t know, get to know!). He is governed by his tummy as most Labradors are, and will do almost anything for food rewards.
Dougie is house trained, crate trained, travels well in the car, well socialised and great with other dogs. He walks well on the lead and has great recall off lead in open spaces. Dougie has been around children aged 9-12 from early on and has settled into a busy family life well.
Dougie requires a minimum of 2 good walks a day but would gladly have more if this was an option! He is entering his preteen phase and can display some challenging behaviours at times but with firm guidance and positive reinforcement he is learning to navigate this tricky time.
Dougie would suit an active home where lots of walks and exercise are the norm. He requires patient owners who have the time to continue to invest in training and give him lots of stimulation. Dougie is from a working line of gun dogs and would be the perfect companion for shoots with the right training.
