Description

Max is a two year old pug. We took him on almost a year ago, after my sister struggled with him and a new born baby. Max is a very dominant dog, who is easily frustrated which means he needs to go to an experienced dog owner and would do best in a home without children or other male dogs. He has never behaved aggressively towards children, but growls and barks when he gets frustrated. Max also experiences severe separation anxiety, and whilst he is toilet trained, will mark and be destructive when he is anxious so is best suited to a home where he is not left alone for too long. He is not good with other male dogs as, whilst small, will want to be the dominant dog and this is part of the reason we just need to accept that it isn't working for us, for our other male dog, and ultimately, for Max. Despite trying very hard to settle him in with our two dogs, we have had to make the decision that we need to find a better home for him than we can give. Whilst he is a very challenging dog, he is also incredibly sweet and can be affectionate on his terms, and is, for the right owner, very obideient- which is why I have fought for so long to try and make this work. Ultimately, he needs an experienced hand that has the time, patience and understanding he needs. I am not looking to sell him, just to find a forever home for him that works for him long term and a new owner that can get the best from him.
