Had since a pup from breeder, he’s been raised around our 3 children since they were babies and is great with them. He is a very loving companion but we are having to rehome as we are struggling with his ongoing medical issues - he has recurrent yeast infections in his ears and allergies which lead to him having sore skin which he licks until it is sore. He is on anti-anxiety medication (approx £30 pcm) to help calm him down as he is quite a hyper dog. He needs to be walked on the lead as he doesn’t have any recall and can be over friendly with other dogs. Having said that when staying with other dogs he calms down very quickly and would be fine to live with other dogs, he may even prefer it. He needs regular grooming but doesn’t enjoy going to the groomers and we would recommend he is muzzled when being groomed, although he is not an aggressive dog. He has quite matted fur at the moment as we are struggling to have him groomed, his behaviour at appointments has led to a number of local groomers not wishing to treat him anymore. This is my absolutely honest report on Monty but please know that he is absolutely wonderful with children and so loving, he will make an incredible family dog but needs a level of attention and ongoing medical support that we are financially unable to provide to him so he needs a family that understands his breed and is ready to provide him with the care he needs in return for his loving devotion. We are so distressed for Monty to leave our family but we can’t provide him with everything he needs at the moment. We are based in Calderdale.
