Dougie is nearly a year old, and is a Labrador type boy. He’s energetic and needs plenty of exercise. Ideally he would like to live with a similar sized dog; a female may be preferable but he likes playing with male dogs too. A home with older children, or no children would suit him best.
Dougie is fully housetrained and his recall is progressing well. He is strong on the lead and wants to play with every dog he sees, so his lead walk training needs to continue in his new home.
He’s sometimes a bit protective over his things, hence why he cannot live with young children. However, Dougie could live in a family with older children. He needs people in his life who will enjoy an active lifestyle with him (playing, walking, training/fun).
He can be left alone in the home, but not for very long periods. It will help if there’s another dog around for him to play with and draw comfort from.
He likes to be outside in the garden, so his new home would need a secure outdoor space for him to enjoy freely off the lead. Dougie is not massively demanding of his human in terms of affection. He likes a bit of a fuss now and then, but doesn't need it all the time. Therefore, he would really suit someone who works from home.
