Leo is a 5 year old sharpei who I’ve owned for 3 years now. Leo was very badly abused in his previous home and he’s never been able to overcome the issues that have come from that.
He can be aggressive to humans if he feels like he needs to protect himself, this included just simply stroking Leo.
I have tried all I can to help him but unfortunately he’s not showing any improvement and is current kept separated from my children which means he is on his on for most of the day.
Leo is not a dog that should be taken by anyone, he needs a very patient and understanding person that understands Leo will need a lot of time to adjust this will include ignoring him for a lot of the time until he’s comfortable with you. Leo is absolutely brilliant with me and has never once tried to bite me, but has bitten others in the past who have not respected his space.
He’s good with most other dogs other than dominant intact males.
I will not rehome Leo with children of any age.
