We are looking to rehome our beloved dog, Charlie, due to changes in our work schedule that unfortunately leave him alone for longer than we feel is fair to him. Charlie is a loving and energetic dog who deserves a home where he can receive the attention and care he craves.
Charlie is fully house trained and has never had any accidents indoors. He knows basic commands such as "sit," "paw," and "lie down," and he’s very food-oriented, which makes him easy to motivate with treats. His recall when off-leash is excellent – he always comes back when called or whistled. However, when walking on the lead, he does tend to pull and will need more training to improve this.
He is well-behaved in the car, sitting quietly and looking out the window, making him a great travel companion. He has a wonderful, loving personality and is full of energy. Charlie thrives on attention and loves being close to his humans, often following you from room to room. He enjoys being stroked and will happily sit by your side.
That said, Charlie is an anxious dog, especially when left alone. He may become restless or disruptive if left for extended periods, and he can be timid when meeting new dogs on walks. While he has never shown aggression toward other dogs, he would benefit from additional socialisation to build his confidence. When he’s feeling anxious or protective over his toys, he may growl as a warning. However, he has never bitten anyone, and we always respect his boundaries by giving him space when needed. His growl can also be a playful one when he’s excited to interact with you.
Charlie has never been around children, so we are unsure of how he would react in that environment. He is strong and capable of jumping up, so he would do best in a home where someone has the time to give him the attention, exercise, and training he requires. We are heartbroken to have to rehome him, but we know he will thrive in a home where he can receive the care and time he deserves.
